Vintage 1970s CORY Tweetie Whistling Kettle in box with wire trivet. This clear glass teapot/coffee carafe features white songbirds on a branch with music notes design, yellow plastic handle & brown plastic snap in whistle lid. The lid is designed to whistle at a rolling boil. Carafe measures 7.5" tall at the highest point & has a 2 quart capacity. The box has age/storage wear and is labeled: CORY Food Services, Inc. 1745 W. Wrightwood Avenue Chicago, Illinois 60614. The heat/cold resistant decanter looks like it's never been used and is marked: CORY CHICAGO U.S.A. CTP-L. The metal trivet is for when this is being used on an electric range. 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: 

1. Add desired amount of cold water

2. Snap in whistling cover

3. Use on medium or low heat

DO NOT BOIL DRY!

4. Keep flame below water level and away from handle bottom (gas range) 

5. Use protective metal grid when heating on electric range (use low or medium heat only)

6. When water boils cover will "Whistle" to tell you. NOTE: Snap out cover before pouring.

7. Wash after each use, do not use scouring pads or harsh abrasives. Do not bump glass.
